Welcome to Jodi Hughes Edits!

Hi! My name is Jodi, and I edit books for publishing companies and independent fiction writers. My passion is line editing novels, and I work on stories in multiple genres: historical romance, contemporary romance, women’s fiction, literary fiction, fantasy, and young adult. I’m also available for copyediting, proofreading, and other services and occasionally accept nonfiction projects.

Send me a note to let me know how I can help you!

Who Am I?

Jodi Hughes is an introvert, dog mom, and seasoned editor with fourteen years of experience working in a traditional publishing house.

She began working for Thomas Nelson Publishers (and later HarperCollins Christian Publishing and HarperCollins Focus) shortly after college and held various roles during her years with the company, primarily with the fiction team. She has enjoyed working with bestselling and award-winning authors, such as Joy Callaway, Kristy Cambron, Charles Martin, J’nell Ciesielski, Terri Blackstock, and Sean Dietrich, among others.

Jodi left corporate publishing in 2023 and transitioned to freelance work to pursue her passion for line editing. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her black-and-white rescue dogs. Jodi graduated cum laude from Samford University with a BA in Classics.
